U.S. Congressman Dave Loebsack stopped at Pella Regional Health Center Friday afternoon to talk with different administrators about challenges they face.
Loebsack tells KNIA/KRLS News he heard feedback about the impact various federal programs are having on rural, critical-access hospitals such as Pella Regional, which play a critical role in providing health services to residents away from large metropolitan areas.
Topics covered in the meeting included reimbursement rates for Medicaid and Medicare, prescription drug prices and big pharmaceutical companies, the Affordable Care Act, and the growing opioid and mental health crises.
