The number three moment for Knoxville Sports during the school year takes us back to the football season.
It was the game of the year for the Panthers. Knoxville jumped hosted North Polk back on October sixth at Ken Locke Stadium for homecoming. The Panthers jumped out to an early lead 14-0 but saw the Comets come back and take the lead using a punishing running game. But Knoxville forced overtime on a Rylan Cox 11 yard touchdown pass from Jacob Zuck and subsequent two point conversion run from Hunter Ohannessian to tie the game at 29 and send into overtime. Knoxville got the ball first in the extra session and Ohannessian scored to make it 36-29. All Knoxville had to do was to stop North Polk’s running game from ten yards out on four plays. After three runs, the Comets thought they could catch the Panthers napping with a pass. It was Rylan Cox and his game winning pick to the rescue. A week later Jacob Zuck entered the record book with his 14th touchdown pass at Bondurant-Farrar. Zuck not only set the record for most touchdown passes in a season with 16…he set or tied five other records including, most passing yards in a career with 2,384, Most passing touchdowns in a career with 30, single season scoring with 156 points, career scoring with 264 points, and tied for the most touchdowns in a game accounting for six in a week two win over Fairfield. Zuck also helped lead the Panthers to a 5-4 season.
