A ton of experience graduated from the Knoxville Football Squad after the 2017 season. Gone from the 5-4 campaign is record setting quarterback Jacob Zuck. In his place will be Cristian Magana, who threw just three passes all last season, and only carried the ball twice. Coach Eric Kellar tells KNIA/KRLS Magana has worked hard this summer and it is now his team as he possesses the keys to the Panther offense. The concern is with low numbers and a lack of depth, Magana may not leave the field this season. He will also play defense, where his picked off three passes in 2017 and is the team’s leading returning tackler with 25. Magana will also be called on for special teams duties as well. He connected on 15/16 extra points, and punted for an average of just under 38 yards. Knoxville gets its season underway next Friday at Fairfield.
