Marion County Public Health wants to remind parents to schedule the required vaccinations for their children to attend kindergarten this fall if they have not done so.
Judi Van Hulzen with Marion County Public Health tells KNIA/KRLS News the required vaccinations are DTaP (Diptheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis), MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), and Varicella (Chickenpox) which sometimes can be given in combination and only have small side effects such as soreness, redness, swelling at the injection site, and a mild rash or low grade fever.
Van Hulzen also said that if you have any questions about vaccinations to always talk to your doctor or a healthcare professional. To hear more about vaccinations, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
