Widespread rainfall is possible beginning late Sunday through overnight Monday in most of the state.
According to the National Weather Service, 1-2” of precipitation is possible throughout most of Iowa, with the heaviest amounts expected along and west of the I-35 corridor with the rounds of showers and thunderstorms possible during the timeframe.

If it comes, the additional rainfall will be welcome news for many, as moderate drought conditions have returned to most of Marion County and the surrounding area, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report.
