The Knoxville Cross Country Squads looked to get a few miles in last night in Albia while also looking at two of the South Central Conference Contenders. The Panthers girls finished second behind Pekin with Mickayla McGill placing fifth and Charlie Vermeer crossing the finish line in ninth. The boys were third with Jordan Bacon placing eighth. Coach Michael Splavec was proud of the effort his runner gave on a hot afternoon. He added they are excited to see what they can do Saturday when they travel to the Pella Invitational at Central College. Twin Cedars was also at the Albia meet and did not have enough runners to score team points. Grace Bailey was 16th overall while Brooke Roby placed 22nd.
