While Pella Christian will have a wide range of dynamic athletes in key playmaking positions, there are two areas of the offense that remain a bit unknown until game time this Friday for the football team.
Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski says they feel good with the stability Dan Jungling will bring to the quarterback position after two years of JV work and a few spot appearances last fall.
“He’s been taking our reps at quarterback,” Kacmarynski says. “He’s emerged and done a really nice job, we’re very excited about him, I think he’s a very accurate thrower and he’s a good decision maker.”
However, he hopes Jungling takes the next step in his progression when competition starts. And the unit blocking for him is also new, with only two returning starters from an offensive line described as the best the program had in 15 years last fall. Kacmarynski says their development may be the biggest difference between a return trip to Cedar Falls or a quick end to the season.
The newcomers to the Eagles offense will have to be ready in a hurry, as Class 3A Oskaloosa — a playoff team each of the last two seasons, comes to town this Friday. Hear the game live on the KRLS2 stream at KNIAKRLS.com.
