For the fourth season in a row, the Pella volleyball team finds themselves landing on the Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union preseason rankings.
The Lady Dutch come in at No. 5 in Class 4A. Back-to-back champions Wahlert–the team to end each of Pella’s previous two seasons, comes in at number one, followed by 2017 runners up Lewis Central and state qualifiers Xavier (3rd) and Independence (4th). Little Hawkeye Conference rival Dallas Center-Grimes is 6th, the first team on the list to not qualify for state last season, but did sweep Pella in their two meetings. Indianola is No. 9 preseason in Class 5A as well.
Pella opens the season Tuesday hosting Ballard.
