The Pleasantville Trojan Football Team had trouble finding and defending the big play last night as they fell to the #6 in class A Lynnville-Sully Hawks 24-0.
The Hawks scored on running plays of 56 and 71 yards in the first half to take a 12-0 lead into the break with neither team finding much offense otherwise. The Trojans seemed to have some momentum in their first drive of the third quarter marching into Hawks territory but several penalties stalled the drive and the Hawks answered with a sustained drive ending in a touchdown to take an 18-0 lead into the final frame. Another long run of 84 yards put the dagger in the Trojans. Head Coach Mack Jorth tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the team will take the positives from this game into next week. Pleasantville falls to 0-1 on the season and will travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont next week.
