The Knoxville Community School District is taking advantage of the Community Eligibility Provision program that will provide a free breakfast and lunch to West Elementary Students.
Business Manager Craig Mobley tells KNIA/KRLS News the district was originally trying to get more schools in the program, but the numbers just didn’t work as West Elementary was the only school that qualified and the district was hoping the money gained from West would be enough to cover other schools’ participation in the program, but it ended up not working out. Mobley also said that having West participate is a huge plus for the district.
No applications or requirements are necessary, as the CEP grant applies to all students attending West Elementary.
