A Central College professor is exploring the wetlands of Iowa, and is now over halfway to his goal of visiting all 99 counties.
Paul Weihe is maintaining a blog called “99Wetlands” to start conversations about often unloved and misunderstood ecosystems. Weihe says he’s having those discussions around the state, especially about the different types of wetlands and why they are important. He says he’s enjoyed a lot of recent visits to sites, highlighting the variety of the ecosystems.
