The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce is taking another step into social media marketing, in an effort to involve local residents in showing the world what the city has to offer.
#IChooseKnoxville is the focus of the Chamber marketing effort; users are being encouraged to seek it out to find out the latest…and to contribute to it themselves, using photos or tweets of special events, local businesses or everyday life.
Chamber Executive Director Hannah Vander Veer tells KNIA/KRLS News it will not only be useful for drawing in visitors, but serve as a reminder to Knoxville residents about what they can see and experience every day.
“Really, our goal for this specific campaign is mostly to just to reach our local residents. We’re trying to create awareness of all the great stuff that we have in town and make people proud of where they live,” Vander Veer says.
The campaign is intended to build pride in the community, which would then translate to volunteerism, more dollars being spent in town and more people being willing to relocate to Knoxville.
