The Central College football team will play its first ever game under the American Rivers Conference flag this afternoon.  It’s also their home opener, as the Dutch host Luther at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium.
Central is off to a 2-0 start, while the Norse are 0-2 under a new head coach.  Despite the change at the top, Luther still runs the triple-option offense a large percentage of the time, and Dutch coach Jeff McMartin knows that they’re in for a challenge today.
“It’s going to move faster and be better than what we can simulate in practice.  So our guys have to do a good job of trusting their eyes, reading their keys, doing their assignment and being disciplined.  That’s something that we’ve really been preaching, and they’re going to have to be locked in today.”
Opening kick is scheduled for 1:00 this afternoon.  Join Trevor Castle and Don DeWaard for all of the action, beginning with pregame at 12:35 on 92.1 KRLS.
