The City of Knoxville has made a slight change to its staff hours, combining the four-day schedule implemented six months ago with a presence at City Hall on Fridays.
The Council voted in favor of keeping City Hall open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday through Thursday, and Fridays from 7 to 11 a.m.
City Manager Aaron Adams says this option was settled on after talking with staff and Council members over the past six months, after the four-day week schedule was implemented.
This setup gives the public a better opportunity to conduct city business before or after work, and provides them with a presence downtown on Fridays when necessary.
