While it was not a thing of beauty, Knoxville was able to scratch out a victory over Saydel Friday night 19-13 as heard live on KNIA and kniakrls. The Panthers opened the scoring on a Kieren Nichols 35 yard run to make it 6-0 after the point after was missed. Saydel countered with a touchdown of its own to take a 7-6 lead, and Cristian Magana found Mike Hudson wide open in the end zone a few minutes later to make it 13/seven Knoxville, and that is where it stayed through halftime. Saydel would tie the score on a touchdown late in the third quarter, but Nichols weaved his way through the Eagle defense for a 47 yard score with just over seven minutes remaining in the game to make the final tally 19-13. Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS Sports, while it was another uneven game, his guys fought to the end. Nichols was defiantly the star of the game rushing 11 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Knoxville is 1-1 on the season and will host Centerville next Friday.
