Local Teams Find Success at Lynnville-Sully Cross Country Invitational

J’lyn Knutson of Melcher-Dallas paced the field of Lynnville-Sully invitational Thursday.

The Saints’ Sophomore won the individual title with a time of 20:50.7. Pella Christian’s Annaliese Admiraal was 4th overall at 22:17.2, followed by the Eagles’ Syndey Hooyer, who nabbed 11th at 23:31.3. Grace Bailey had Twin Cedars’ best race, coming in a 25:42.7, good for 31st in the field of 68.

Pella Christian’s boys grabbed 2nd as a team, just nine points short of No. 5 in 1A Pekin, with the Eagles scoring 48. Lucas Bandstra grabbed 6th place at 19:04.2, followed by Daniel Mora Demestri in 8th at 19:24.2 and David Bernhagen in 9th at 19:39.8. Emery Sage of Melcher-Dallas was 4th overall in the bosy race at 18:06.6, with Ryan Krpan grabbing 15th at 20:31.2.
