A Knoxville kennel has received approval for its plan to move to a new location south of town from the Marion County Board of Supervisors.
During Tuesday morning’s meeting, the Board approved the plan submitted by Pet Haven to relocate to 399 Weiler Drive. The current kennel at 2000 Main Street has had flooding problems.
The Board also approved the contracts for congregate meal sites, providing lunch to senior citizens and others on a regular basis. Marion County Public Health Director Kim Dorn originally asked that the current contracts be extended by three months, while some minor changes were made.
And the Board appropriated the remaining five percent of the funds budgeted to the county libraries; the additional $4,500 brings the total allotment to the libraries up to $90,000.
