For the second straight week the Pleasantville girls’ cross country team came out on top in a meet, as they won in Central Decatur last night.
The Trojans won the four-team meet with 34 points while Chariton was second with 56. Pleasantville’s top five runners cracked the top 15 headlined by Emmie Kenyon in fourth and Hailee McCormick in sixth. Melcher-Dallas did not have enough runners for a team score but J’Lyn Knutson took care of business once again, winning her second meet of the year in 25:35.
On the boys’ side, Pleasantville finished fifth with 101 points while Chariton took home the title with 46 points. Devon Luing paced the Trojans in 14th and Trevor Pulse was 21st. Emery Sage had a solid showing for Melcher-Dallas finishing second in 22:22.
