The number three ranked class 2A PCM Mustangs took care of business Friday as they shut down the ninth ranked West Marshall Trojans 29-6.
The Mustangs jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter before West Marshall would answer on a 70 yard quarterback run cutting the lead to 14-6. The Mustangs would answer in the 2nd quarter taking a 22-6 lead at the half. The Mustangs and Trojans would play a stalemate type game the rest of the game with both teams giving up turnovers and not being able to capitalize. The Mustangs would add another touchdown late to make it 29-6 but Coach Greg Bonnett still felt like the Mustangs didn’t play to their potential. Bonnett says he doesn’t want his guys thinking they didn’t get a win, but he wants them to know they didn’t play to expectations and they can all play a lot better. The Mustang will finally get to open the home portion of their 2018 season as they will host Roland Story next Friday.
