Coming into their first volleyball season in the West Central Conference, Pleasantville head coach Joel Allman expected the new league to be deep and every match to be a grind. A couple weeks into the year and those expectations have not changed.
The Trojans have faced off with Earlham, Des Moines Christian, and Madrid and fell in each of them. Allman tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it has been a good jump to the new league because the tough teams will prepare them well for the postseason. He adds that he expects Des Moines Christian to be at the top of the league and that it was a learning experience for his team to see a squad that excels at passing.
Pleasantville will hope that learning experience translates to their first win of the year Tuesday against Interstate-35.
