From one Class 1A juggernaut to the next, part two of the Eagles’ football non-district road stint sees them travel to a perennial powerhouse in week three.
No. 8 Pella Christian heads east to face No. 1 ranked Regina tonight. The Eagles season has ended two years in a row to the Regals–both times in the playoffs, and each game by a two-point margin. Regina is 4-0 in the all-time series, with all four matchups coming since 2014.
Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he believes the Eagles did not play up to their potential against Van Meter, and were overmatched at times in that contest, a recipe they can’t afford to repeat against the defending 1A runner up, who is solid across the board.
Coverage from Iowa City begins at 6:30 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS, with Andrew Schneider and Larry Hessing calling the action.
