The Pella City Council approved second and third readings for several ordinances at their meeting Tuesday evening.
The council adopted four ordinances at their meeting, including:
– Requiring special use permits for all new bars and taverns in all commercial zones
– Two planned unit developments: one for the proposed Vintage Cooperative housing project at Bos Landen and the other for the Webster Park project at the corner of Main and Broadway
– Rezoning of two properties in the 500 Block of West Second Street from institutional to residential
In addition, the council established a public hearing date for October 16th for two items; to consider a proposed urban renewal plan to potentially use tax increment financing to support the proposed Webster Park project, and award a bid for approximately $1.1 million in asphalt overlays for several streets and the Volksweg Trail.
