No. 3 Pella is looking for a percent conclusion to the non-district football season against rival Carlisle tonight.

Head Coach Jay McKinstrey tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Wildcats are likely going to be the most physical team the Little Dutch face during the regular season.

“They’re always just firing off of the ball and they’re so good at it,” McKinstrey says. “The thing that I admire about them is that it’s play-after-play-after-play.”

Carlisle, at 2-1, has rushed the ball 157 times in three games to just 19 passes, gaining 5.4 yards per carry, led by Ethan Reed with 351 yards and four touchdowns and Nic Goodhue with 236 yards and 2 scores. Their only loss was to No. 1 Lewis Central in week two.

The Little Dutch and Wildcats have met 14 times in the last 15 years, with the boys in green holding a 13-2 edge all-time, including the last seven matchups.

Coverage of Pella hosting Carlisle begins at 7 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS, with Andrew Schneider and Randy Sikkema calling the action.
