The Pleasantville City Council Met in regular session Monday.
The meeting began with a public hearing regarding The Jasper Street Water Main Replacement Project. $425,000 would be needed for the project, which is designed to provide cheaper, cleaner water to residents living on Jasper Street.
The Council also approved an approximately $34,000 partial payment for work done around Shadle Park, and a $250,000 partial payment to Woodruff Construction for work done for the city. A $13,200 agreement for the continued services of Snyder and Associates for the Jasper Street Project was also approved.
An adjustment to the city code was approved. Ordinance Number 1805 was adopted to better define a “Dangerous Building” under city law. The Council also agreed to allow up to $1,350 to the Pleasantville Police Department for the purchase of new hand held radars. They also approved the closure of Washington Street to allow tailgating during the Homecoming Parade on October 4th from 4:30 p.m to the parades end.
The Pleasantville City Council will meet next on October 15th at 5:30. This meeting will open with a public hearing on the vacation of an alley lying adjacent to Jordans Railroad Addition.
