A Knoxville business is sponsoring an event this weekend, designed to help veterans who are considering suicide after having trouble adjusting to civilian life following combat.
“Fitness for Heroes” will be held at KNX Fitness in downtown Knoxville on Saturday; veterans and civilians alike are invited to work out together, and there will be information on suicide prevention and dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder for those service members who need assistance.
This event will raise monies for the Catch a Lift Fund, which helps aid the prevention of suicide among veterans.
The organization also provides support to wounded veterans who use exercise programs to help heal them physically, as well as mentally.
