Taking on another daunting course, the Central College men’s golf team played 54 holes in two days and closed in fourth at the 11-team Lindenwood Belleville Invitational Tuesday.

After 36 holes Monday the Dutch finished with 18 Tuesday, carding 316-309-318—943. Missouri Valley won with 302-295-300—897 with Park University next at 302-296-313—911. American Rivers Conference rival Simpson College was eighth at 355-344-346—1045. Central will face an even sterner test to complete the fall season next Monday and Tuesday at the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate Invitational at Kohler, Wisconsin. The tourney is held on the club’s Irish Course, ranked No. 45 on Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses” list.
