Rain has let up for the time being, but the after effects of flooding on Marion County roads remain.

County Engineer Tyler Christian and his crews have been working throughout the past couple of days on monitoring roads shut down by flooding; some have re-opened, but others remain shut down as water slowly recedes.

Some along English Creek, Cedar Creek and White Breast Creek are back in use, while others along English, Cedar, the Skunk River and Lake Red Rock remain closed off due to standing water.

And Christian told the Marion County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday evening some of these roads could need repair work after the water disappears, on top of the routine road maintenance the county needs to do.
