Two people face several felony charges after an argument turned into police searches and investigation.

Randy Zentner, 47, of Otley, is charged with 2nd degree criminal mischief, control of a firearm by a felon, and 1st degree theft. Shannon Ferguson, 34, is charged with forgery and 1st degree theft. According to court records filed on August 31st, police say Zentner called the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to report Ferguson was at his Otley residence in November of 2017, and that she was wanted in Jasper and Marion Counties. Zentner was, at the time, a suspect in the theft of his brother’s firearms from the same residence. After search warrants were obtained, officers found a car with tools to counterfeit money believed to be used by Ferguson.

While in custody, Ferguson told police Zentner was in possession of a stolen vehicle and firearms taken from his brother. After rounds of later questioning and investigation, the car was determined to be stolen out of West Des Moines and valued at $35,000. Zentner also denied stealing the firearms, but police report a subsequent search warrant turned up guns, ammunition, and parts. Zentner was arrested on a warrant over the weekend.
