While it wasn’t the placements they envisioned, the Pella and Pella Christian volleyball team finished with wins in the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament Thursday night.

The No. 4 in class 4A Lady Dutch finished in 3rd place — sweeping Grinnell (21-11, 21-14) and Oskaloosa (21-10, 21-17), falling to eventual league champion DCG (16-21, 17-21), and defeating Norwalk (19-25, 25-17, 15-10) in the 3rd place game. Pella Christian split their matches — falling to the Warriors (18-21, 18-21) and Indianola (13-21, 15-21) in straight sets, and beating Newton (21-13, 21-9) and Oskaloosa (19-25, 25-20, 15-8) to place 5th overall.

The Lady Dutch finish the regular season at 29-6 and await the winner of Knoxville/Carlisle for a playoff game on October 23rd, while the Eagles move to 16-15 and tune up for the playoffs at the Knoxville tournament Saturday.
