Sometimes when a team hits a rough patch in a season it’s easy for things to spiral downhill. Players might call it quits and start looking forward to the next sport. Then there is what the Pleasantville football team did on Friday night, as they had different plans with their season.

Coming into their homecoming game against a 4-2 Woodward-Granger team, the Trojans sat at 1-5 and their postseason hopes long gone. That didn’t stop them from giving a playoff like effort against the Hawks on Friday night; as they pulled out an emphatic 27-7 upset win. Head Coach Mack Jorth tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the effort from his players has not wavered one bit all season long.

“They come everyday with the same attitude and approach as they came out in August with. Their character has been great and when you stay the course, good things will follow like this. I am really glad they are able to experience this.”

The Trojans will hope that momentum is carried over to Friday’s week eight contest at Interstate-35.
