The Pleasantville football team gave the undefeated Interstate-35 Roadrunners a scare but couldn’t keep up late to fall 35-14 on the road.

The Trojans drew first blood with a methodical opening drive capped off by a four yard Cael Lester touchdown run. The Roadrunners returned the favor and put together a long drive of their own to tie it late in the first and then took advantage of a Trojan turnover to take their first lead of the game. The Pleasantville offense went back to work and put together another impressive drive capped off by a Kolbie Jarvis 13-yard receiving touchdown from Caylor Clark with 13 seconds left in the half to take a 14-14 tie into the break. After a field position battle for much of the third, I-35 broke the tie on a 25-yard scamper for a score and once again took advantage of a Pleasantville miscue to take control of the game early in the fourth up a pair of scores. One more tally late put the game out of reach and the Roadrunners seized the 21-point victory. Lester led Pleasantville with 52 rushing yards and Clark was 6-11 through the air for 65 yards and the one touchdown.

I-35 stays unbeaten to move to 8-0 while the Trojans drop to 2-6. Pleasantville will look to finish the year strong next week traveling to Woodward-Academy.
