2018 Tulip Queen and Court Pictured in March

Twenty-one high school seniors have indicated they want to be the 2019 Tulip Queen.

The official list of nominees have been released, and include girls from the Pella area attending Pella, Pella Christian, or homeschool. Official ballots are available in local newspapers coming out this week, and need to be submitted by Tuesday, October 16th at 5 p.m. Head of the Tulip Queen Selection Process Lori Lourens tells KNIA/KRLS News the ballots must include three girls in order to qualify, as well as a signature, and must come from the newspapers — no copies allowed. Submissions can be made at the Pella Historical Society, Pella Hy-Vee, Marion County Bank, and Fareway. Twelve finalists, based on the community vote, will perform at the Tulip Queen’s Announcement Party on Saturday, November 10th at 7 p.m. in the Pella High School Auditorium.
