All season long Wes Cummings and Reed Worth have headlined the talk around an explosive PCM offense on the gridiron and rightfully so.

When you have two guys with over 3,500 combined total yards in a year you can see why that gives opposing defensive coordinators nightmares. When you add a state track 100-meter finalist to the mix as a reliable receiver, those coordinators can forget sleeping at all. That’s what senior Preston VanWyk brings to the table, as yet another weapon to the Mustang arsenal. His eight receiving touchdowns on the season lead class 2A district 8 and his 426 yards ranks fourth. PCM Head Coach Greg Bonnett tells KRLS Sports VanWyk is a great compliment on the outside for Worth and Cummings.

“Smart teams are going to try and stop Reed and Wes in the run game. But, that is problematic when you don’t have guys that can run with Preston and not many teams can. We have one of the fastest teams in the state and he is a big reason why.”

VanWyk will look to run past the Williamsburg defense on Friday night in Monroe. You can listen to the quarterfinal matchup on KNIA starting at 6:30 p.m.
