Central College football kicker Jon Alberts was one of 26 kickers nationwide named to the Fred Mitchell Award October Watch List Monday morning.

Kickers from all non-Division I FBS schools are eligible for the award based on athletic performance and community service. This list includes nine kickers from Division III schools and eight other juniors. Alberts was previously on the preseason and September watch-list for the same award. Alberts has hit on 41 of 42 extra point attempts this season, including 31 straight since September 17. He has converted five of six field goals, three of which were longer than 40 yards. His 55-yarder against Wartburg is the longest in Division III and tied for the fourth longest in all divisions of NCAA.

He was named the American Rivers Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after he went 3-for-3 on kick attempts in a 17-16 win against Simpson College. The Dutch (7-2, 5-2 conference) travel to Loras College on Saturday for the final game of the season, starting at 1 p.m.
