The Indianola Community School District athletic saw a lot of success with the high school fall sports teams, with the boys cross country team winning the conference meet, the volleyball team winning the regular season conference title, and the football team making the class 4A state playoffs.

Activities Director Lee Nelson tells KNIA News the coaching staff and athletes continue to fuel the success of the teams.

“We have a really good group of coaches and a really good group of athletes in both the boys and girls programs, and whatever success they have is a good reflection on how hard they work. We are especially proud of what they showcase what they do for not only the school but our community at the same time.”

Nelson also said that the winter sports season is a different animal for the schedule because icy roads and snowstorms mean things can get canceled on late notice, so he will do his best to keep everyone as updated as possible, which includes contacting KNIA for cancellations or delays.
