More applicants are coming in for a Knoxville-area charity which helps struggling families at Christmas time; and many of the children in these families have practical items on their wish list.

All Wrapped Up provides holiday gifts and items to families in need; donors may adopt a family for the season, and provide them with whatever they may request.

Aubrey Schneider is with the Celebrate Church, which helps organize the event; she tells KNIA/KRLS News the kids are often less interested in the latest toy every other child wants, than in everyday items they really need.

“We are seeing requests for things like winter coats and snow boots, pants and shirts; we’ve even had some where the parents will fill out for babies things like diapers or baby food, formula, blankets, those kinds of things,” Schneider says.

Applications for families seeking assistance are being accepted from now through December 6th; you can sign up at the Celebrate Church located across from the Knoxville Raceway, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Potential donors may also come in at that time to find a family they can help out.
