Lots of Knoxville residents will have a four-day or even a five-day weekend; and with all that extra time on their hands, anyone looking for something to do is encouraged to come out to the Rec Center.

Brandon Nemmers is the director of the Knoxville Rec Center; he tells KNIA/KRLS News with some exceptions, the center will have its regular hours and facilities available for the public to use.

“We’ve got our normal building hours every day this week besides Thursday; we’re closed due to Thanksgiving holiday,” Nemmers says. “We will not have our fitness classes this Friday, Saturday or Sunday, kind of let our instructors spend time with family and friends, but we will have normal building hours during that time.”

Nemmers says this is usually the time of year when the center begins to get busy, but that’s what it’s here for…so everyone should feel free to come use the gym, cardio room, weight room or pool as they wish.
