A red-hot 16-4 run to start for the Pella Christian boys gave them control of a game against ADM that ended 59-50 in their favor, while the Eagles girls couldn’t find the handle of the basketball against the Tigers defense in a 62-51 loss, both heard live on 92.1 KRLS Tuesday.

The Eagles fired threes and twos early, and kept the Tigers at arms length throughout the contest, despite 20 turnovers on the night.

Pella Christian was paced by 16 points and seven rebounds from Daniel Jungling, with Brett Roose scoring 14 first-half points and Josh Van Gorp collecting 10 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double.

The Eagles girls, despite leading after one quarter 16-14, were outscored by ADM 29-16 in the next two periods. Chloe Morgan scored 12 points and nabbed six steals, Mary Kate-Bandstra tallied 12 points, and Emma Huisman scored 15. The Eagles turned the ball over 22 times.

The 1-0 Eagles boys and 0-3 girls will welcome rival Pella Friday to open the conference season Friday, which can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
