The Pella City Council approved a partnership with Historic Pella Trust for a learning walkway from the Tuttle Cabin to the Sunken Gardens Windmill at their meeting Tuesday.

The agreement establishes the working relationship between the two entities, with Historic Pella Trust planning to fully fund the walkway connecting the Sunken Gardens Windmill and Tuttle Cabin on Lincoln Street. The city is now responsible for constructing, owning, and maintaining the self guided instructional path, which would occupy a vacated city-owned alleyway. Construction could begin mid-2019, and be completed by the fall. The third reading of an ordinance amending downtown parking regulations and a farm lease agreement for land near the Pella Sports Park were also approved.
