Students from Jefferson Intermediate School in Pella traveled to Des Moines last week to make a dent in world hunger.

Fifth graders packed over 7,000 meals with Meals from the Heartland.

Students Samuel Carlson, Benjamin Dothager, Meav Swank, and Harry Tallman tell KRLS News the class raised money doing a variety of chores and fundraisers this fall to make the trip possible, and they all learned the importance to give to those with less than they have.
