The Knoxville School District has notified parents and guardians that the district was made aware of a threat made by a student over social media. The student has admitted to sending the message and is in the custody of law enforcement authorities.

Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA KRLS News a 17-year-old boy has been detained on a charge of threat of terrorism, and that firearms were not involved in the threat. The school administration is assisting the Knoxville Police Department with the investigation.
