Athletes from the Tulip City were selected to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-State Volleyball teams.

Pella’s Emily Holterhaus will finish as a four-time honoree, and three times on the first team. Holterhaus places 6th in the “Quik Stats Era” (since 2007) in kills with her 1788, and made it to the state tournament all four seasons of her varsity career. She’ll play volleyball at UNI next fall, and is on the Lady Dutch basketball and track and field programs.


Natalie Clayberg earned her second consecutive all-state honorable mention honor. Clayberg tallied 215 kills for the Lady Dutch, finishing with 808 in her four seasons. She has finished her high school athletic career, and will be a Wartburg Knight next autumn.

Emma Huisman was an all-state honorable mention in Class 2A. The senior setter tallied 587 assists this year, giving her 1310 in her career. She is a starter on this winter’s Eagles basketball team.
