The Pleasantville girls’ basketball team got their season off on the right foot Friday night beating Saydel and they will need more nights like that in what’s expected to be a loaded West Central Conference.

Head Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA Sports he expects quality opponents and thinks the new league will run through Panorama and Des Moines Christian. He describes them as well coached and athletic which will make them a tough out. Fichter adds what separates this conference is not only the top teams are good but the middle of the pack will be strong as well.

The Trojans will look to keep their momentum going Tuesday when they host Eddyville-Blakesburg.
