The Pleasantville basketball teams took care of business on the road last night sweeping Melcher-Dallas in a pair of games heard live on the KNIA3 Stream.

In the girls’ game the Trojans utilized a 1-2-1-1 press to stifle the Saints attack to roll to a 52-20 victory. In the first quarter both offenses struggled to find rhythm with Pleasantville up 10-6 after the first quarter and 19-8 at half. Pleasantville got the offense going in the second half to cruise to the 32-point victory. Seniors Jordan Dursky and Taylor Foley paced the Trojans with 11 points each and helped them to a 3-0 record. Emilie Krpan led the Saints with eight points and they fall to 0-2.

On the boys’ side it was a back and forth first half before Pleasantville broke it open for an 83-65 win. The Saints threw the first punch early grabbing a 17-10 lead when the Trojans went on a 7-0 run to tie it after the first quarter. The second quarter experienced many lead changes with the Trojans up 38-34 at the intermission. In the second half the Trojan defense came to play and stretched the lead out for the 18-point win. Tagen Douma had a huge night for Pleasantville with 25 points and Teron Mount added 16. Ryan Krpan kept the Saints in it with a game-high 27 points. The Trojans open the year 1-0 with Melcher-Dallas at 0-1.
