Veterans will be treated to a free breakfast and music sung by students of Victory Christian Academy this morning, thanks to a partnership between the Indianola Hy-Vee, Victory Christian Academy, and the Indianola Community Church.

Victory Christian Academy Administrator Dr. Sandra Dop tells KNIA News what she hopes to pass on to the students with this program.

“We want them to understand the history, this year is the 100th anniversary of the peace treaty signed after World War I. Here we are 100 years later, and what’s happened in the last 100 years has made a large difference in our world and those people that have given up time to serve in the military need to be respected for that.”

The breakfast will be served from 7-10am at Indianola Community Church, with the children’s performances beginning at 8:30am.
