The Pleasantville boys’ basketball team gears up for their first season in the West Central Conference this winter.

Last year the conference had two teams with at least 20 wins and one that reached the state tournament in Van Meter. Trojan head coach Joel Allman tells KNIA Sports he expects the Bulldogs to be near the top, but as a whole the league is up for grabs.

“Van Meter, Des Moines Christian, and Woodward-Granger will be near the top but most of the league is interchangeable. We are hoping to come in every night and compete. I think we will be able to challenge any team in the league if we continue to get better everyday.”

The Trojans open the season Tuesday traveling to Melcher-Dallas. Listen to the game on the KNIA3 Stream at kniakrls.com with Cole Cook and Tom Wilkins on the call.
