The first Pleasantville cross country season in the West Central Conference is a wrap and top to bottom was as strong as anticipated.

The depth of the conference showed in volleyball and the same went for cross country. Head Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA Sports there were more quality teams than what we have seen in years past.

“The Pride of Iowa Conference had numerous sports where the top level of the conference was strong but that didn’t guarantee it would be strong in the middle. It definitely seemed that the West Central was strong from top to bottom. There were numerous state qualifying teams and others that had the potential to be as well.”

The girls’ side had three teams qualify for the state meet in Fort Dodge and Madrid won a state title on the boys’ side.
