Those planning their return trip from Thanksgiving on Sunday will want to pay attention to weather forecasts over the next few days as there is a potential for moderate snowfall statewide.

According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm may develop overnight Saturday through most of Sunday, with south central Iowa currently predicted to be in the region most likely to see significant winter precipitation. Gusty winds associated with an anticipated cold front could make travel even more hazardous.

However, conditions today through Saturday will include above normal temperatures and a good chance of rain Friday. Stay tuned to 92.1 KRLS for the latest winter weather information, as well as cancellations and delays.
