Marion County Humane Society is inviting the public to join them for breakfast this Saturday, to help support the organization and meet a few of the dogs they have available for adoption.

Breakfast with the Dogs will take place from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Knoxville Hy-Vee; you can meet with volunteers and their dogs, and purchase breakfast to help support the work of the society.

MaKenna McDonald is the manager at their shelter in Knoxville; she tells KNIA/KRLS News all proceeds go towards the continuing care of their pets, as they await adoptive families.

“Typically goes to…keeping the place going, taking care of our animals. We always need money to keep in our medical fund; we go through that quite a bit,” McDonald says. “Overall, it always goes to the animals.”

One dollar from every breakfast sold will go towards Marion County Humane Society; homemade dog treats will also be on sale.

Applications will also be available for anyone interested in adopting the dogs at the breakfast or any of the other ones in the organization’s care.
