With the holiday break signifying the halfway point of the school year, the Indianola School Board reflected on the goals set forth by Superintendent Art Sathoff in September.

Sathoff tells KNIA News the first goal of the district this year was to improve person-to-person relationships.

“We are in a people business. Whether it’s teachers dealing with students or teachers and administrators dealing with parents, we are in the people business and a service business. Relationships with the students will always be at the top of our list, and that’s not just my personal goal–we have all of our teachers working to improve on that every day.”

Sathoff’s other goals outlined for the district were to prioritise resources to streamline facilities and the curriculum to better serve students, as well as having the school district work better with the community.
